Frequently Asked Questions
-
We are based in Christchurch and provide in-home physiotherapy throughout the Canterbury region. We are also able to support clients across wider South Island centres depending on your specific needs.
Please contact us to confirm if we cover your exact address.
-
Absolutely. We frequently work with adult children arranging care for their parents. We take a warm, practical approach and work closely with family members, carers, and GPs to ensure everyone involved feels supported and informed about the treatment plan.
-
You don't need to prepare anything or buy any special equipment. Coming to your home allows us to see the daily challenges you face in your actual environment. We tailor our rehabilitation and mobility support to the space you live in, making our treatment plans realistic and highly practical.
-
Yes. We have fully accredited wheelchair and seating assessors on our team. We provide comprehensive, in-home assessments to evaluate your mobility needs and environment. Based on this, we provide expert recommendations on the best equipment for you to purchase privately to ensure maximum comfort, independence, and safety.
-
No, you do not need a doctor's referral. As registered ACC providers, our team can fill out and lodge your ACC claim directly during your very first in-home visit. If youβve already sustained an injury at home, work, or out in the community, we handle the paperwork for you right here in Canterbury.
-
ACC offers substantial subsidies for community and home-based physiotherapy. However, all ACC clients will have a surcharge, as ACC does not cover the full cost. We make sure to discuss all financial details transparently before your first appointment to avoid any surprises.
-
ACC covers a wide range of personal injuries caused by accidents. This includes sprains, fractures, post-surgical rehabilitation following an accident, and injuries resulting from a fall at home. For older adults, a fall that causes physical injury or functional decline is a primary reason for an ACC-funded community physio assessment to prevent future incidents.
-
We know that early intervention is crucial for a successful recovery, especially for neurological conditions or post-accident mobility issues. We typically schedule our initial in-home assessments within a few business days of your inquiry across Christchurch and local Canterbury districts.
